1820 saw Jørgen B. Lysholm, one of the pioneers of Norwegian spirits production, found his distillery, laying the cornerstone for today's remarkable tradition of aquavit from Norway. Jørgen B. Lysholm's story served as a model and an inspiration when it came time for the creation of a new premium aquavit.
Master Distiller Ivan Abrahamsen and his team formulated Lysholm No52 as the ideal aquavit for cocktails, expanding the realm of the possible for aquavit at the international level. It was number 52 in a series of recipes that were developed until the right note was found. Lysholm No52 is a fresh, complex aquavit with striking notes of citrus. It contains eleven different botanicals, including star anise, cilantro, bitter orange peel and ginger. This last component is uncommon in aquavit and gives it the fresh spice that makes it such a fine partner for mixing. Its powerful and expressive taste and distinctive character make it a both unmistakable and essential ingredient in cocktails.
