Gin Mare - The Mediterranean Gin
Gin Mare opens a new chapter in the book of successful premium Gins. The concept is simple but ingenious. A pan-Mediterranean connotation unites the different cultures of the Mediterranean regions by means of their common botanical specialties.
The aromatic structure of this unique gin is based on four "Botanicals": basil from Italy, thyme from Greece, rosemary from Turkey and finest Arbequina olives from Spain. Complementary "Botanicals" are juniper, coriander, green cardamom and citrus fruits. The fruits and herbs are carefully macerated and then distilled in copper pot still plants. So the pristine character of each ingredient is preserved in the gin and remains noticeable. The family distillery is located in a small fishing village between the Costa Brava and the Costa Dorada.
The name "Mare" offers numerous echoes of the Mediterranean culture, out of which the connection with the Italian "Mare" (= sea) is the most obvious. But the "Mare Nostrum" known to Latinists includes a broader concept of Mediterranean lifestyle and symbolizes the magic of the scenic and historically fascinating Mediterranean with its pleasant climate and the unique passion for pleasure and hospitality of the native peoples.
