Fetzer
Pioneers in Sustainable Winegrowing
The Fetzer name is inseparably bound up with the birth of the sustainable winegrowing movement. Back in 1968, estate founder Barney Fetzer started his own little rebellion by cultivating his vineyards using solely environmentally friendly winegrowing methods — making him the first California vintner to do so, long before the term "sustainability" became a buzzword.

Today the "Green Cellar" from Mendocino County works 100% with renewable energy. Thanks to its young and dynamic image, the Fetzer Winery has retained its position as pioneer among the Californian winemaking avant garde. Its wines routinely grace the podium at competitions of all stripes, an impressive affirmation of the high quality delivered by these California "wine rebels."
