BRUICHLADDICH
Malts shaped by terroir
Bruichladdich was founded in 1881 by the Harvey brothers and was long considered the most modern distillery in Scotland. Even today it retains its strong role as one of the industry's true innovators. Legendary Master Distiller Jim McEwan and his successor Adam Hannett developed a completely new terroir approach to draw out the purest expression of the wild Islay island. Bruichladdich is the sole Islay distillery to distill, age and bottle all single malts 100 % on the island. This uncompromising restriction to Scottish barley and Islay spring water and complete avoidance of all manipulations, such as cold filtration or artificial colorings, are strong reflections of the Scottish spirit of 100% flavor and 100% quality.
