BALBLAIR
The Perfect Expression of Highland Single Malts
The Balblair Distillery, which sits not far from Dornoch Firth Meeresenge in the Highlands, was founded in 1790 and thus counts among the oldest whisky producers in Scotland.
Its headquarters is located near the small town of Edderton. Master distiller John MacDonald personally checks every drop, selecting the Balblair Single Malts not a moment before they have reached the absolute peak of their maturity. This uncompromising dedication to quality earned Balblair numerous awards and accolades from whisky experts during the time when the distillery sold only exclusive vintage selections. Starting in April 2019, the distillery has changed up its entire vintage concept and is orienting itself towards a complete, permanently available core portfolio with age statements. Maturation is performed primarily in used Bourbon casks, and then only in a first or at most second fill. Special bottlings are also finished in used Sherry barrels. All Balblair single malts retain their harmoniously soft character, with traces of fine fruit and gentle sweetness.
